JOB TYPE: PERMANENT

JOB Location: OMAN, Middle East.

SALARY: 100% TAX FREE + EXPAT Package.

SENIOR NETWORK PLANNING MANAGER

Job Purpose

The position will be responsible for the overall design (logical and physical) of the Company’s  telecommunication network using the latest approved technologies. Consult with the Group HQ, Board and EXCO to ensure implementations meet or exceed networking standards. Interface with Business management, Network- and IT management to determine project scope and timing requirements.

Reporting Lines :

• Reports directly to: CTO
• Direct reports: 2-3

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Network Planner/Network Engineer
Description

• Responsible for the logical and physical design of the Company’s Network- and IT telecommunication system using the latest approved technologies
• Responsible for network strategy
• Consult with the Group HQ, Board and EXCO to ensure implementations meet or exceed networking standards.
• Interface with Business management, Network- and IT management to determine project scope and timing requirements.
• Interface with Finance management to determine CAPex and Opex drivers.
• Act as Project Manager for major corporate initiatives responsible for overall project plans and status reporting
• Provide high-level technical support
• Coordinate the efforts of multiple activities to develop and implement standard designs, support processes, and strategies
• Responsible for the overall design of the network as well as submission of necessary change controls to implement approved designs
• Lead Joint Venture, Acquisitions and Network related activities
• Able and willing to Communicate (verbally & written) plans to all levels of management, including effectively communicating technical subjects in non-technical terms.
• Document processes & procedures and developing other documentation, e.g. eTOM and ITIL v3
• Minimum 5 years related telecommunication network experience for mobile and fixed operation
• Extensive knowledge of radio and core network planning principles
• Knowledge of IT planning principles
• Extensive knowledge of communication skills required
• Knowledge of basic planning tools
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, Microsoft Project and Visio required
• Strong project management skills
• Strong structural and process skills
• Working knowledge of eTOM and ITIL is desired

Qualifications:
Occasional Duties

• Undertakes similar or related duties as directed by senior management.
• Develops staff as directed by management.

Background Knowledge & Experience. 

• Minimum university degree in network planning/development or related subject.
• Professional Qualifications / Mandatory Licences
• Experienced in project management of complex telecommunication solutions

• Eight to ten experience in network planning/development and project management.
• At least five years of experience in the telecoms or IT industry
