JOB LOCATION: QATAR-Doha. @ Middle East.

JOB TYPE : Permanent

DEPARTMENT: Commercial Support

REPORTS TO: Head of Commercial Support

FUNCTION: Consumer Business Unit

ROLE PURPOSE:

The primary function of the Trade Activities Manager will be to develop, implement and manage the trade activities strategy for the company’s channels (online, retail, mass market and care) that aligns the individual channel targets with the overall business and marketing strategies and assists the channels in achieving their set targets.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Key Accountabilities

Strategy Development

  • Liaise with Marketing to define an overall channel trade activity strategy and a strategy per channel – aligned and integrated with the overall marketing and business strategies and;
  • Translate the Company’s business plan and financial targets into targets and deliverables for each channel.

Channel and Campaign Management

  • Interface with Marketing to design, execute and manage campaigns, events and promotions per channel that will deliver the trade activity strategy;
  • Assist in design and implementation of business processes and procedures for each channel that will deliver the trade activity strategy;
  • Ensure that channel activities are in line with the agreed operating plan and directly contribute to the overall success of the channels and;
  • Monitor and measure KPI’s per channel including ROI and impact analyses of campaigns, events and promotions.

Project Management

  • Co-ordinate planning of campaigns and promotions per channel to support agreed operating plan and to achieve business targets;
  • Implement and manage planned campaigns and promotions per channel;
  • Co-ordinate campaigns and promotions across channels and;
  • Attend all channel-related project meetings as required.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with stakeholder and customer groups – specifically in Marketing and Finance as key stakeholders;
  • Represent Commercial Support team at any required Finance, Marketing or channel-related events/forums;
  • Demonstrate effective relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills, with an ability to work across boundaries.
  • Deal with conflict in a positive and timely fashion;
  • Demonstrate a willingness to listen to opinions and stakeholder needs whilst being confident to challenge opinions when required and;
  • Collaborate with reporting manager to ensure timely delivery of reporting to all stakeholders and customers as required.

Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively and effectively across the channels to meet Commercial Support team deliverables, collectively as well as per individual channel;
  • Manage own workload & assist other team members with theirs when required;
  • Share knowledge and information;
  • Treat all team members with respect and;
  • Contribute to the achievement of the team’s results;

Leadership

  • Provide effective leadership to the channel teams – motivating and inspiring them to be the best they can be;
  • Provide constructive, open and honest feedback to team members to support continual development and;
  • Keep Head of Commercial Support informed – highlighting any issues/risks and/or wins.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience

  • Min 5 years experience in channel marketing with a strong retail/sales focus
  • Min 3 years experience in telecommunications
  • Min tertiary business degree relevant to the position
