1 Job Purpose:

  • Co-ordinates the corporate-wide National Development Programme (NDP) ensuring quality development plans are in place and being followed.
  • Co-ordinates the Scholarship, Educational Sponsorship and Internship Programmes. Position holder also supervises developees assigned to overseas training assignments/secondments.

1 (T&D Assistant), provides guidance to the National Development Program Coordinator

3 Key Result Areas:

  • Tracks and monitors the progress of all graduates and trainees under development to ensure quality/actionable development plans are in place for each developee and competency attainment is being achieved in a timely manner.
  • Monitors the timely confirmation of all developees into target posititions.
  • Provides mentors and dept managers with guidelines on creating development plans and training schedules.
  • Co-facilitates on coaching and mentoring workshops.
  • Meets regularly with HR Advisors to provide support and guidance on National Development issues.
  • Overseas the development of competency manuals for National developees.
  • Leads workshops in competency manual development.
  • Develops literature for managers, mentors and developees on the the National Development Programme and its related procedures and policies.
  • Contributes to overall Qatarisation strategy by ensuring the Scholarship Programme is meeting its objectives.
  • Works with Recruitment team and University Advisory committte to uccessfully co-ordinate all external applications for scholarship and internship.
  • Successfully co-ordinates and manages all internal applications for educational sponsorship.
  • Supervises and co-ordinates all overseas training assignments for Graduates.
  • Produces and maintains clear policy, procedure & guidelines for the Company’s Educational Programmes.

4 Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries:

  • Is a member of the Training and Development Dept.
  • Has a high degree of freedom to analyse existing Educational processes, document observations and make recommendations to Head of National Development for ways to improve existing processes.
  • Operates within clear policy & procedure for educational programmes at the company.

5 Communications and Working Relationships:

  • Meets regularly with Head of National Development to provide updates on status etc.
  • Involves close liaison with other members of the Training and Development Dept.
  • Works within a well defined structure and clear hierarchy.
  • Works closely with the University Advisory Committee (UAC) on Scholarship and Internship Issues.
  • Communication with the National Development Team (NDT) may be required.
  • Works with Group managers to identify scholarship and internship vacancies.
  • Is the point of contact for all sponsored employees and scholarship students.

  • Work is carried out under standard and accepted guidelines and supervision.

8 Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Degree holder in a related discipline e.g. Business Administration
  • Post-graduate qualification in HR desirable e.g. PG dip/MSc/MBA HR
  • Professional certification in HR desirable e.g. CIPD, SHRM
  • At least 5 years experience co-ordinating similar employee development/educational programmes.
  • Familiarity with higher education entry requirements/processes in UK/US.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels – fluent English language skills.Able to operate in a multicultural environment.
