Key Words:

• Knowledge of relational database systems; Oracle preferred
• Strong IT Background 7-10 Years, minimum 3-4 Years in Cognos & ETL.
• Strong Functional Knowledge of Finance Domain ( Banking / Accounting / Insurance)
• Prior experiences with multidimensional database management systems (Essbase, Hyperion, Cognos)
• Atleast ONE lifecycle Implementation Experience for Telecom Client , with Finance related Project is desirable

ROLE & CONTEXT

Purpose:

To provide support on Cognos Enterprise Planning (EP)

and related software platforms across the Group to improve the efficiency of financial reporting, budgeting and planning and to provide, as much as possible, a single source of data with common definitions for subsidiary and Group reporting.

Context:

As member of Investment Management, Group Finance, to focus on Cognos Enterprise Planning Solution.

Short and medium term, Financial Systems Enterprise Planning Developer is needed to assist Financial Systems Consolidation Controller with the support on the existing Cognos Infrastructure in order to automate the entire close process, from data collection to financial consolidation to output. To work extensively on the Cognos Planning Analyst and Contributor administration in terms of architecture, configuration, access and maintenance. Failure in these tasks would mean inadequate data from subsidiaries for group finance to prepare mgmt reports.

B. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Overview

• Day to day responsibility will include supporting the existing Cognos Enterprise Planning process, working with the Investment Management team, and providing support on the Daily Flash, Monthly Closing, Quarterly Forecasting, and Annually Budgeting process.
• Be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and expanding existing Cognos Planning models and the full Cognos
• Enterprise Planning infrastructure and financial models utilizing Cognos Analyst and Cognos Contributor.
• Utilize ETL and Data Warehouse to assist data collection from subsidiaries to Cognos environments.
• With the growth of the business, the role holder will need to drive the design and development of EP solutions based
• on information gathered through requirements analysis, interviews and workshops.
• Using various BI analysis tools, assist in the analysis and reporting of financial and planning data.
• Produce clearly written and well organized design, administrative and end-user documentation.
• The role holder will have an excellent understanding of the financial forecasting and reporting process; and using this knowledge, he/she will meet with cross-functional Finance groups to gather requirements and develop Cognos Planning solutions.
• Develops and maintains positive working relationships with subsidiary and Group finance staff.
• Develops detailed understanding of subsidiary business environment.
• Rapidly gains detailed understanding of subsidiary budget modelling practices and procedures, spreadsheets, key assumptions, KPIs and other factors needed for the maintenance and monitoring of subsidiary budgeting function and outputs.
• Conduct special projects concerning support and development of ERP implementations.
• Compile reports on a monthly/quarterly and annual basis as required.
• Support and monitor work of external consultants when necessary..
• Provide support to Group companies in start-up, turnaround, M&A, and other special situations, as necessary..
• Be willing and able to travel, occasionally at short notice, and operate effectively in the field under tight time constraints and minimal supervision.
